Mission: To bring smiles to children in Liberia's poorest areas by providing them access to quality education.

Vision: To leverage the power of quality education in order to eliminate the extreme poverty that many Liberians face.

On February 11, 2006, William Ward, Achilles Killen, Ernest Harmon and Cyrus Strother met to discuss issues pertaining to the well being of youths in their native country of Liberia. These four young men were determined to become agents of change in order to improve the lives of impoverished Liberian children, many of whom were orphans and former child soldiers.

As a result of this meeting, Smile Liberia International, Inc., was formed. It became a registered nonprofit organization on May 15, 2006.

We believe that education can be used to reduce the devastating poverty rate in Liberia, as well as rehabilitate the children who have been directly affected by the Liberian civil war.
